Murder Charges Laid After Man Found Bloodied, Unconscious On Vancouver Street

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Nov, 2015 11:56 AM
VANCOUVER — A 23-year-old woman is charged with second-degree murder in connection with Vancouver's 14th homicide of the year.

Police say a man was found lying on the ground near Station Street and National Avenue unconscious and covered in blood around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

The 31-year-old man — whose name has not been released — was taken to hospital but died of his injuries.

Police believe the man was involved in a dispute with several individuals at a nearby rooming house, and was attacked on the street shortly after leaving.

Police say the attack appears to have been unprovoked and that the man did not appear to know his attacker.

Sadie Taniskishayinew is in custody charged with second-degree murder, and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
