Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 16 Feb, 2015 12:40 PM
SICAMOUS, B.C. — A mudslide in the Okanagan has caused a home evacuation and closed a major road.

The slew of mud and debris came down 13 kilometres south of Sicamous, B.C., at around midnight Sunday.

RCMP say a residence was evacuated and three vehicles on the property were damaged.

The slide covered part of Highway 97A, and a stretch of the road is closed as geotechnical crews assess the area.

Drivers are being advised to take alternate routes along Highway 97B or Highway 1. (CKIZ)
