  • Motorcyclist killed in crash with fire truck in Vancouver

A motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a Vancouver fire truck responding to a call.

Vancouver Fire Rescue Services say in a statement that the crash happened this afternoon near Lost Lagoon on the Stanley Park Causeway.

The crash has closed the road to traffic, and Vancouver Fire Rescue Services say the causeway will remain closed for the investigation.

The statement says the unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene despite efforts by emergency personnel, and a full investigation will take place to determine what led to the fatal crash.

TransLink confirmed on social media that the crash has disrupted a number of its bus services accessing downtown Vancouver and the North Shore, while the City of Vancouver is advising motorists that the Lions Gate Bridge is also closed.

No additional details on the crash have been released.
