Motorcycle 'Swarm' Leads To Fiery Crash in Mississauga, Ont

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 12 Sep, 2016 01:29 PM
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Police west of Toronto are investigating after hundreds of motorcycles swarmed city streets, resulting in a fiery crash that scorched at least one bike.

Peel Regional Police say they are combing through numerous tips and videos after receiving more than 20 calls about the incident in Mississauga, Ont., beginning around 1 p.m. Sunday.

Videos posted online show motorcycles whipping in and out of traffic, popping wheelies and racing through red lights.

Const. Bally Saini says they have seized a charred motorcycle that crashed into another bike before being abandoned.

She says police believe the rider hopped on another motorcycle and took off, but they are working to identify the owner.

Saini says they received reports that there were anywhere between 100 and 400 motorcycles involved in the ride.
