Motive For The Raj Sangha's Shooting Death Is Unclear: Police

The Canadian Press, 28 Nov, 2018 12:39 PM
SURREY, B.C. — Police say a man is dead after a targeted shooting that appears to have no links to an ongoing gang dispute in Surrey, B.C.

Cpl. Frank Jang of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 41-year-old Ranjeev Sangha was shot to death just before noon on Monday in a "brazen" and "reckless" shooting.

Jang says Sangha wasn't known to police and a motive for the shooting is unclear.

About an hour after the incident, police say a burning black sedan was found in Richmond and they believe it is connected to the attack.

Jang says they're appealing to anyone in the community to help them find those responsible for Sangha's death.

He says police are also trying to determine why Sangha was targeted.

"And we're tying to find out why exactly anyone would want to harm him, why anyone would want to shoot him and why anyone would want him dead," he added.
