MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — The Conservation Officer Service says it has trapped a bear that may be responsible for an attack in Maple Ridge, B.C.

A woman's face was cut in the incident that occurred on the deck of her rural home at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Inspector Murray Smith says the mother bear may have knocked the woman over while running away, leaving her with a laceration.
