Police in Nanaimo are looking for a knife used in a stabbing this morning.

R-C-M-P say one person was stabbed after an altercation in the 100 block of Victoria Crescent.

They say a suspect was arrested not long after near the Port Place Mall, but officers are still looking for the knife allegedly used in the incident.

They say the stabbing victim was transported to the Nanaimo hospital for treatment.
