Mob Attack In Surrey: Man Beaten, Cars Vandalized, RCMP Investigating - WATCH VIDEO

Darpan News Desk, 15 Nov, 2019 09:11 PM

A disturbing video has emerged showing a group of young men using golf clubs to beat a man and damaging several cars in the parking lot of the Kwantlen Plaza strip mall at 128 Street in the city’s Newton neighbourhood.

City Mayor Doug McCallum feels that mob violence is happening with “alarming frequency” in the city and has released the following statement

“There is a video circulating online that shows a group of young men fighting, many of whom are wielding metal or wooden rods and sticks as weapons, and vandalizing cars in a parking lot in the 7000 block of 128 St. area of Surrey,” he said.

“I am deeply concerned that this kind of mob violence is happening with alarming frequency. In August, another large brawl in the Strawberry Hill area was caught on video. This behavior is repugnant and puts the public at risk. It is imperative that RCMP take immediate and strong action to get a handle on this kind of mob violence that is occurring far too frequently in Surrey.”

RCMP has also expressed concern over the incident and told that there has been an open investigation into the matter

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502. Those who would like to leave an anonymous tip can do so by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leaving a tip online.
