MISSION, B.C. — A 43-year-old man from Mission, B.C., has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Walter Ramsey was facing charges of first-degree murder and arson in the death of a woman after her trailer home in the Fraser Valley community went up in flames at 3 a.m. on April 17, 2015.

Thirty-three-year-old Eleanor Anthonysz's body was found inside, and two children escaped, but were injured.

RCMP Insp. Ted De Jager, officer in charge of the Mission detachment, says the tragedy affected the entire community.

Supt. Dwayne McDonald of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the hard work and dedication of various police agencies resulted in the guilty pleas.

The children's identities are protected by a publication ban.
