THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the death of 38-year-old Rajwinder Bains of Surrey.

Rajwinder Bains was first reported missing on January 23, 2019. She was seen leaving a residence in the 6100 block of 140th Street on January 10, 2019. She was last seen leaving the TD Canada Trust bank on 152 St. and 56 Ave. in Surrey at about 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, 2019.

IHIT is investigating her death with help from Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Team and the BC Coroners Service, but Cpl. Frank Jang said there is still much they don't know.

He asked anyone with information that could help their case to come forward.

“IHIT is exploring all avenues of investigation into Ms. Bains’ death,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang on Thursday. “Detectives continue to pursue leads that may answer the many questions remaining and are urging anyone with information to come forward.”

Anyone with information about the investigation can call IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
