Military Names Canadian Soldier Who Dies During Training Run In New Brunswick

The Canadian Press, 26 May, 2016 11:34 AM
FREDERICTON — The Canadian Armed Forces has identified a soldier who died while on a unit run near the Gagetown base in New Brunswick.

The military issued a statement on Wednesday night saying Cpl. Christopher Webster collapsed while taking part in a jog on the Hazen Park running trail outside the 5th Canadian Division Support Base.

A news release says CPR was administered immediately and Webster was transported to Oromocto Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Webster joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2009 as a regular member.

He was serving as an army communications and information systems specialist.

The military says since the incident didn't occur on the base the investigation is being conducted by New Brunswick Coroner Services.
