Military Aircraft Searching For Small Plane Reported Missing Near Yellowknife

    YELLOWKNIFE — Royal Canadian Air Force search and rescue aircraft are looking for a small plane with two passengers that was reported missing in the Northwest Territories.
     
    An Air Force spokesman says the last known position of the aircraft on Thursday evening was about 90 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife near Gordon Lake.
     
    A military Twin Otter and some civilian aircraft searched the area Thursday night but didn't find anything.
     
    The Air Force has now sent a Hercules aircraft and Griffon helicopter to join the search.
     
    A Transport Canada plane has also be assigned to help.
     
    There was no immediate information about the missing plane, including where it left from or its final destination.
