SURREY, B.C. — Police confirm two people have been found dead in a rural area of Surrey, B.C.

A message posted on the Twitter account of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the two unnamed people are victims of homicide.

No other details have been released.

The homicide team says an update is expected later in the day.

Surrey RCMP said they were called to reports of a shooting at around 10 p.m. Monday.

At least five people have died in separate attacks around Metro Vancouver in recent months, and the cases include a double murder in Richmond on April 30, though police have not linked any of the slayings.
