Merritt Flying Club Sues Former Director Alleging He Wrote Cheques To Himself

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 28 Oct, 2014 01:12 PM
KAMLOOPS, B.C. - An aviation association in Merritt, B.C., is suing one of its former directors for more than $20,000, alleging he wrote cheques to himself for his personal use.

The Merritt Flying Club has filed a notice of claim in B.C. Supreme Court against Ian Gordon.

The document says Gordon wrote two fraudulent cheques to himself — one for $12,000 in October 2009 and another for $8,428 in February 2010.

It says Gordon lacked the authority to write any cheques to himself for his own use.

Gordon has 14 days to file a statement of defence once he has been served.

None of the allegations in the notice of claim have been proven in court. (Kamloops This Week)
