Police say a 41-year-old man is accused of stealing more than 56-thousand dollars of merchandise from Burnaby's Metrotown shopping centre.
R-C-M-P say the man was identified as a suspect through video surveillance after thefts from a single store between September 8th and 17th.
They say officers arrested the suspect at the shopping centre last month.
The man faces six counts of theft over five-thousand-dollars.
A majority of Canadians think the federal government should spend more on health care, a housing strategy and initiatives to ease inflation and cost-of-living issues, a new poll suggests — but they also want it to freeze or reduce other spending. House of Commons Speaker Greg Fergus apologized Monday, and is now facing calls to step down, after a video message he recorded to thank the departing interim leader of the Ontario Liberals was played at the provincial party's leadership convention on the weekend. Fergus delivered the apology in the House of Commons the day after Conservative House leader Andrew Scheer gave notice on Sunday that he planned to raise a question of privilege, given the Speaker is supposed to play an explicitly non-partisan role.
