Police say a 41-year-old man is accused of stealing more than 56-thousand dollars of merchandise from Burnaby's Metrotown shopping centre.
R-C-M-P say the man was identified as a suspect through video surveillance after thefts from a single store between September 8th and 17th.
They say officers arrested the suspect at the shopping centre last month.
The man faces six counts of theft over five-thousand-dollars.
Both sides blamed each other, with the CEO of regional transit authority TransLink saying the union's wage demands are unreasonable, while a union spokesman accused Coast Mountain of trying to bully them. The province's labour minister, meanwhile, considered appointing a special mediator with additional powers to help break the deadlock.

It said an incident at Burnaby's Parkland fuel refinery caused the "strong chemical odour" around the region and enforcement officers were sent to the site to make sure Parkland was complying with it's emissions permit. Metro Vancouver is responsible for issuing air emissions permits and environmental regulation.
Mounties in Maple Ridge are investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday afternoon that sent a man to hospital. Ridge Meadows R-C-M-P say officers responded to a call of shots fired just before 3 p-m in the area around 123 Avenue and 222nd Street.
