, 15 Jan, 2016 01:01 PM
Surrey, BC - Mayor Linda Hepner has been recognized for 30 years of combined service to the City of Surrey.

Before being elected to Council in 2005, Mayor Hepner worked as a staff member at the City of Surrey for the previous two decades.

First hired in 1985 to the City Manager’s office as Executive Assistant, she eventually branched out to a variety of positions including Business Development Officer, Manager of Corporate Administration and Manager of Economic Development.

In a letter of congratulations from Mike Jones, the City Manager who first hired Mayor Hepner 30 years ago, he commends her for delivering “outstanding performances in a variety of roles, within both the administrative and the political arms, and has done so for three decades and… still counting.”

Mayor Hepner was presented with a Service Pin by City Manager, Vincent Lalonde at last night’s council meeting. The City of Surrey recognizes employee dedication to public service every five years and is expanding the program to acknowledge long standing service achievements for all City officials.
