LADYSMITH, B.C. — A man in Ladysmith, B.C., has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a 55-year-old woman.

RCMP say Trevor Meers remains in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance next Tuesday.

Police aren't identifying the victim, but say she and Meers knew each other.

Fifty-year-old Meers was arrested after a 911 caller reported that several people were involved in a fight at a modular home park around midnight on Tuesday.

An ambulance was dispatched to the home, but the woman died at the scene.
