Manitoba NDP Politician Mohinder Saran Disciplined In Harassment Probe Wants Full Reinstatement

IANS, 22 Dec, 2016 11:27 AM
WINNIPEG — A Manitoba politician who was the subject of a sexual harassment complaint wants to be fully reinstated.

Mohinder Saran was suspended from attending NDP caucus meetings a few weeks ago following a complaint that he had harassed a subordinate.

Neither the NDP nor Saran have released details, but a party source told The Canadian Press that Saran was accused of making inappropriate comments to a subordinate.

Through his lawyer, Saran says he was investigated by the province's human resources department and told to take a course in sensitivity training.

He says he will complete the course by early next month and then expects to regain his full caucus privileges.

There has been no response yet from the NDP caucus.
