Vancouver police have shot a man they say was carrying a machete outside a SkyTrain station.
Const. Jason Doucette says the shooting happened at the 29th Street SkyTrain station in east Vancouver.
He says the man is in hospital but his condition is unknown.
Police say officers were helping transit officials at the time.
Police have notified the Independent Investigations Office, a civilian-led body that responds to incidents of serious injury or death involving police officers.
