The Canadian Press, 23 Feb, 2015 01:09 PM
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A man who RCMP say was abducted then shot several times at a rural property near Dawson Creek, B.C., before dragging himself to safety is in stable condition.

The 26-year-old remains in hospital after officers say he was forced into a pickup truck by multiple people late Friday night, then taken to the property where he was shot several times.

Mounties say the wounded man escaped early Saturday morning and managed to pull himself to a nearby road, where he was picked up and taken to hospital in Dawson Creek.

Officers say they were at the hospital for an unrelated matter when they discovered the man outside the emergency entrance.

RCMP believe the incident was gang-related, and have identified a number of people believed to have been involved as an investigation continues.

Police say a forensic examination has now been completed at the scene of the shooting. (Moose FM)
