Man involved in police incident in Langley last month found dead

B-C's police watchdog confirms that a man who was involved in an incident with police in Langley last month has been found dead.
The Independent Investigations Office of B-C says human remains found at the scene of a fire in Langley are those of a man who had barricaded himself inside a building as police were outside on November 10th.
The I-I-O says the search for the man was delayed until investigators could safely enter the fire-damaged building.
The watchdog says it will investigate to determine what role police may have played in the death.
British Columbia Premier David Eby says he's received a briefing from Canada's spy agency about the "assassination" of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar and he's "deeply disturbed" by what he was told. He says he's calling on the federal government to share all information related to ongoing foreign interference and "transnational organized crime threats."
A 50-year-old man has been charged with assault after what Vancouver police say was a violent attack on two shopkeepers in the Chinatown neighbourhood.
