Man in hospital after being hit by a bus

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 23 Jun, 2023 09:39 AM
  • Man in hospital after being hit by a bus

A man who was crossing a Surrey street mid-block is in hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a bus.

Surrey R-C-M-P say it happened early this morning (on 96th Avenue) just a few blocks east of Surrey Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the privately owned bus remained at the scene and police say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.

Investigators are appealing for dash-cam video taken in the area between 2:30 and 3 a-m, along 9th Avenue between 140th Street and Fraser Highway.

The regulator says if emissions regulations successfully limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, fossil fuel use will drop by 65 per cent from 2021 to 2050. That would prompt a collapse in global oil prices, to as low as US$35 per barrel by 2030 and US$24 per barrel by 2050.
