A man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Abbotsford. Police say the pedestrian accident happened this morning on North Parallel Road.

The driver stayed at the scene and is co-operating with the investigation.
Police say the recent heavy snowfall likely contributed to the crash.
Rear Adm. John Mauger says a tail cone of the submersible and other debris from the vessel were found about 1,600 feet from the bow of the famous shipwreck. Mauger says the debris was consistent with the catastrophic loss of the craft's pressure chamber.

Vancouver Police are investigating a fatal collision that killed a 28-year-old man this morning, and are asking anyone with information to call investigators. Although the investigation is still in its early stages, it is believed speed and impaired driving contributed to the crash. The 34-year-old suspect, driving the van, was taken to hospital for serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
