Man Found Injured In Public Bathroom Near Vancouver Community Centre

Darpan News Desk, 03 May, 2019 05:42 PM

Vancouver Police are investigating an incident at the Carnegie Centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside this past weekend that has left a man in his 50s with serious injuries. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

On Sunday April 28, just after 11 a.m., police were alerted about an injured man inside the washroom at the Carnegie Centre, near Main and East Hastings streets.

Officers located a man with serious injuries and he was transported to hospital where he remains in critical condition. He is described as a 52-year-old Asian man with short, dark hair, and a short, slim build.

“Investigators are trying to piece together the circumstances that led to this man injuries,” says Sergeant Robillard, Vancouver Police Department. “The evidence collected so far has led detectives to believe that the injuries sustained by the man were the result of an assault,” adds Robillard.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call detectives in the VPD’s Major Crimes Section at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
