Mounties in Surrey say a man has died after a shooting last Friday.

R-C-M-P say the man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a parking lot near Cineplex cinemas' Strawberry Hill location along 122 Street.

They say he was taken to hospital but later died, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to take over the case.

The Mounties say the July 5th shooting in Surrey's Newton area is believed to be a targeted, isolated incident.

An RCMP news release says Parks Canada contacted police around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday after a three-metre-long inflatable boat washed ashore on the island with two deceased people on board. Police say they think the boat is a lifeboat from a larger vessel named Theros.
