A 54-year-old man is dead after a building fire in Surrey that also killed two pets.
Surrey R-C-M-P say they got a report of a fire in the upper residential suites of a commercial building a little before 3:30 this morning.
Police say the Surrey Fire Department got the occupants of other suites out of the building, but a man found in a suite did not survive, despite life-saving efforts.
Mounties and fire officials say the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

British Columbia is phasing out the pap test for cancer screening in favour of mail-in kits collected by patients. The government says trials have shown that screening for the human papillomavirus, or HPV, is more effective at finding pre-cancerous lesions compared with the pap test.
