MALAKWA, B.C. — A man is dead following a collision between a train and a pedestrian in British Columbia's southern Interior.
Sicamous RCMP say officers responded to a call from Canadian Pacific rail police around 11 a.m. about an accident near Malakwa, east of Sicamous, B.C.
The incident took place off the Trans-Canada Highway.
The Mounties are not releasing the man's name until his family is notified.
This is the second fatal train incident in the Malakwa area this year.
One person was killed and two injured in March when a train struck a car, which was parked on the tracks at the time.
