Mounties in Chilliwack say a man is dead after a hit-and-run collision last week. 

Chilliwack R-C-M-P says officers found an unresponsive male lying on the side of the road on January 18th after receiving a report. 

Police say paramedics also attended the scene and pronounced the man dead. 

Mounties say two frontline officers later located and seized the vehicle involved in the crash and the vehicle remains in police custody for further forensic analysis.

Earthquakes Canada says a 4.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded Sunday afternoon and public reports poured in from hundreds of kilometres away from the event's epicentre.  John Cassidy, a seismologist with Natural Resources Canada, says people over a "very wide region" of the province have reported feeling the earthquake, which hit just before 3:30 in the afternoon.
