Man Dies In Car Crash With Two Children On Board In Nanaimo, BC

    NANAIMO, B.C. — RCMP say a man is dead and two children have escaped serious injury after a car crash in Nanaimo, B.C.
     
    Mounties say the vehicle drove off the road and hit a hydro pole at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
     
    The 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and two children, ages six and eight, were taken to hospital and later released.
     
    Police say early reports indicate that the man experienced a medical emergency while he was driving.
     
    A traffic analyst's report and a mechanical inspection of the car are pending.
     
    RCMP are not releasing the identity of the man who died.
