Man charged in Kelowna stabbing

A man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing a woman in an altercation in Kelowna.

Police say the incident happened on Wednesday around 7:20 p-m, when officers were called to the intersection of Bernard Avenue and Ethel Street.

Mounties say they found the pair, who are known to each other, and arrested the man, who is now also facing charges of uttering threats and breach of probation.

The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

The British Columbia government has set out its first set of targets for thousands of new homes to be built in 10 cities or municipalities in an effort to chip away at the provincial housing crisis. Weather advisories lifted after first B.C. storm of the season

Wind warnings have been lifted in most areas of British Columbia, while high water advisories remain up for Vancouver Island and the southwest coast after the first major storm of the fall swept through.
