A man charged in the death of a 78-year-old woman in Vancouver has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The man entered the plea in B-C Supreme Court this week in connection with a January 2021 home invasion that killed the senior.

The victim had been found on the floor with two black eyes and a bloody face, and she died days later in hospital.

A second man who also pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the same case has already been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Search underway for two kayakers reported missing near Sidney, B.C., say RCMP
The Sidney/North Saanich RCMP is asking for the public's help locating two men who went missing while kayaking from D'Arcy Island to View Beach on Saturday afternoon. The RCMP say the men were in a teal blue fibreglass, two-person, tandem kayak. They are identified as Daniel MacAlpine, 36, and twenty-six-year-old Nicholas West.
