Man Charged In Death At B.C. Home Where Police Say 'Violent Struggle' Occurred

    CENTRAL SAANICH, B.C. — A man from Nanaimo, B.C., has been charged with first-degree murder after police found one person dead and two seriously injured at a home in Brentwood Bay.


    The Central Saanich Police Department says they found signs of a "violent struggle" when they responded to a report of a disturbance at the home on a cul-de-sac early Saturday morning.


    They say Alan Charles Chapman has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court Wednesday.


    He was arrested on Saturday.


    Police have not described his relationship to the victim.


    The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation.


    Police are asking anyone with information about the incident who has not yet spoken with police to contact them.
