Man charged in Calgary after unlocked running SUV was stolen with baby inside

    CALGARY — A young man has been charged after an SUV was stolen in Calgary with a sleeping baby inside.

    Police say the mother had left her 10-month-old boy in the running and unlocked vehicle Sunday afternoon while she dashed into a store.

    When she came outside the SUV and her infant son were gone.

    Emergency personnel later found the stolen vehicle with the baby unharmed inside.

    Killick Hunter, who is 21, faces charges of vehicle theft, operating a motor vehicle while unauthorized and driving while uninsured.

    He is to appear in Calgary provincial court Feb. 9.
