Vancouver – A Vancouver Police investigation has led to the arrest and charges against a man who allegedly photographed and sexually assaulted women while working at a downtown laser hair removal clinic.

Vancouver Police launched an investigation in 2019, after one person came forward and reported being sexually assaulted during laser hair removal appointments at Dermabella Clinic, located near Howe and Smithe streets. During the investigation, detectives identified a second victim who had allegedly been photographed while naked and receiving treatment at the clinic.

BC Prosecution Service has now approved charges in the two cases.

Ali Aghasardar, 50, has been charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of voyeurism. The alleged offences occurred between January and October 2019.

Aghasardar has a court-imposed condition not to be alone with any patient or client without another adult present for the duration of any treatment.

Police are requesting that anyone with information they feel could be important for the police to know to contact the VPD Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0601.
