A man has been arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after driving through a police traffic stop in Surrey.

Surrey R-C-M-P say they responded on January 3rd to reports of a suspected impaired driver near the 13-thousand-900 block of Fraser Highway.

Police with the help of a helicopter located the silver Mercedes S-U-V shortly after, but the driver drove through a police traffic stop and continued to operate recklessly.

Police say they were eventually able to arrest the 47-year-old male driver after he stopped in the parking lot of Willowbrook Mall in Langley

Elementary school in Surrey set to reopen after fire

An elementary school in the Metro Vancouver municipality of Surrey is set to reopen the day after an early-morning fire caused damage to an annex building.
