Man accused of killing Manitoba woman in 2006 changes mind, pleads not guilty

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Oct, 2014 10:27 AM

WINNIPEG - A man who has repeatedly tried to plead guilty to killing a Manitoba woman eight years ago has changed his mind.

Traigo Andretti is pleading not guilty to the killing of Myrna Letandre in 2006 and is heading to trial without a lawyer.

Andretti is already serving a life sentence for killing and dismembering his wife in British Columbia.

He has tried to plead guilty before various judges in Manitoba but, when he was formally given the chance to enter a plea on Monday, Andretti pleaded not guilty.

Andretti was asked again Wednesday if he stands by that not guilty plea and he said yes.

His pre-trial hearing is set for Oct. 30.
