Man, 31, To Face Child Sex-Assault Charge In B.C. Court, Remains In Custody

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Jun, 2015 02:00 PM
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Mounties in northeastern British Columbia say a 31-year-old man is facing several charges arising from a child sexual-assault investigation.

RCMP Cpl. Dave Tyreman says Kevin Belcourt has been charged with one count each of sexual assault, sexual interference and luring through telecommunications.

He says Belcourt has also been charged with two counts of administering a drug, and police anticipate additional charges.

Tyre man says officers executed search warrants on a home and analyzed devices holding digital pictures in the investigation that began June 12.

He says police are seeking additional information because other victims may not have yet been identified.

Tyreman says Belcourt resides in both Dawson Creek, B.C., and Prince George, but remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
