Male's Death In Langley, B.C., Appears To Be Targeted Homicide: Police

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 17 Oct, 2016 10:43 AM
LANGLEY, B.C. — Homicide police are investigating the death of a male in Langley, B.C.

On October 16, 2016 just before 10:30 a.m. the Langley RCMP received a report of suspicious circumstances in the area of 23700 72 Avenue. Upon police attendance, a male victim was located having sustained injuries consistent with foul play.

Despite the best efforts of the British Columbia Ambulance Service the male victim died as a result of his injuries, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation.

From the evidence gathered so far, the homicide appears targeted and not random. Members of IHIT are working closely with the Langley RCMP, and the BC Coroner's Service, to determine what events led up to the death of the male victim. The identity of the male victim has yet to be confirmed, and therefore cannot be released at this time.

The 23700 block of 72 Avenue has been shut down for undetermined amount of time. All media inquiries will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448, or if they wish to remain anonymous to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
