Mounties in Williams Lake say they're investigating a break-in and assault that allegedly involved three men carrying machetes.

Police say officers were called to a home overnight Thursday, and one person was visibly injured when the residents came outside.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as being dressed in all black with their faces covered, and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
