MONTREAL - Luka Rocco Magnotta's murder trial has heard from one of the sons of former prime minister Jean Chretien.
Hubert Chretien's name and return address were listed on one of the packages Magnotta sent to a Vancouver school in May 2012.
It contained body parts of Jun Lin, the Chinese engineering student Magnotta has admitted to killing.
Magnotta is charged with first-degree murder in Lin's slaying and dismemberment.
Chretien testified today through video link, saying he doesn't know Magnotta and that he never sent any packages to Vancouver in May 2012.
The witness says his famous politician father is far better known than he is.
Magnotta, 32, has admitted the physical acts of which he's accused but has pleaded not guilty by way of mental disorder.
He faces four other charges: criminally harassing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other members of Parliament; mailing obscene and indecent material; committing an indignity to a body; and publishing obscene materials.
