London, Ont. Mother Charged With Attempted Murder In 6-Year-Old Daughter’s Stabbing

    LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., say a six-year-old girl is in critical condition following surgery for stab wounds and her mother has been charged with attempted murder.
     
    Police say officers arrived at the home on Thursday morning and found the child suffering from what they describe as a "serious" abdominal stab wound.
     
    The child was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery.
     
    Investigators say 29-year-old Erica Ehikwe was arrested at the scene and is charged with one count of attempted murder.
     
    She remains in custody pending a court appearance.
     
    Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the London Police Service.
