Police in Langley say one of their officers has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

RCMP say an officer was conducting traffic enforcement when the crash occurred on Friday.

They say the suspect drove away heading northbound toward downtown Langley.

The officer was taken to hospital with what police say are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mounties are asking anyone with information, including dash-camera footage from around the time of the crash to contact them.

They say further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
