Kids: Join Coquitlam RCMP for Operation Tracking Santa on Christmas Eve

    A recent radio upgrade has given Coquitlam Mounties an unexpected side-benefit; a new-found ability to talk to Santa at Christmas.


    We’re pretty excited about the chance to connect with Santa, so we want to give local kids that same chance on Christmas Eve, says Constable Sara Tilley with Coquitlam RCMP.

     

    You’ll be seeing our festive police car at two locations. In exchange for the chance to talk to Santa over the police radio, each child will be asked to do a good deed in the community so they can stay off the naughty list.


    Port Coquitlam location:

    Tuesday, December 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    Near Leigh Square, at the corner of Shaughnessy and McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam.


    Coquitlam location:

    Tuesday, December 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Near the Lincoln Skytrain Station, at the corner of Pinetree Way and Northern Avenue, Coquitlam.


    We’re also using this event to pass along a Christmas message to adults, says Constable Tilley. Try slowing down when you drive, being more patient and kind, and keeping your alcohol or cannabis consumption to a minimum; it’s the best way to avoid any other police officers over the holidays.
