The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an ongoing sexual assault investigation.

On Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 10:30 p.m., a man was operating a power boat in the area of Woodbine Beach.

It is alleged that a man welcomed two people onto his boat - once on the boat, he steered the boat away from the shoreline - the man sexually assaulted the two people.

Shanthakumar Kandiah, 54, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of forcible confinement, operation of a Conveyance while imparied, operation of a Conveyance with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood. 

He appeared in court, at College Park, on Monday, July 13, 2020, at 10 a.m. The boat is described as a 22-foot, Rinker power boat, yellow/white in colour.
