The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General says it is launching an investigation into how a sensitive law enforcement document was leaked on social media.
A statement from the ministry says Abbotsford police and the province’s anti-gang agency have become aware of a sensitive law enforcement intelligence document being put on a social media site last month.
The provincial director of police services has appointed the R-C-M-P Major Crime Unit to investigate.
The ministry says it won’t make further comment since the case is under investigation
Charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault have been laid against a 41-year-old man after a shooting earlier this year in downtown Vancouver. A statement from Vancouver police says the man is also facing a firearms offence and remains in custody, awaiting a court date early next week.
