B-C's human rights commissioner has been reappointed by the legislature for another five years.
Legislature members voted unanimously to reappoint Kasari Govender, following a recommendation from a parliamentary committee of government and opposition members.
I am honoured and energized to be reappointed today as BC’s Human Rights Commissioner. As I look toward the next 5 years, there is no doubt that BC faces significant human rights challenges. I am grateful to continue working toward a province free of discrimination and injustice.

Committee chair Joan Phillip says members were impressed with Govender’s work to promote human rights in her first term.
