Justin Trudeau Swarmed While Greeting Locals At Halifax Farmer's Market

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 02 Apr, 2016 02:24 PM
HALIFAX — Dozens of people swarmed Justin Trudeau today at a farmer's market in Halifax as the prime minister took time to shake hands, cuddle babies and take selfies.

Wearing grey suede shoes, jeans and a blue blazer, Trudeau slowly made his way through the busy market on the Halifax waterfront, stopping to talk to vendors and eager fans.

Sisters Jillian Brown, 11, and Haley Brown, 17, drove 70 kilometres from Windsor, N.S., for a chance to meet the prime minister.

Haley Brown says she’s a Trudeau supporter because of the work he’s done to bring Syrian refugees into the country and the experience of shaking the prime minister’s hand is one she’ll cherish forever.

Trudeau is scheduled to speak at the provincial Liberal party’s annual general meeting on Saturday.

He is also expected to meet with Premier Stephen McNeil.
