There was a surprise jump in home sales in December.

The Canadian Real Estate Association says home sales rose 3.7 per cent from December of 2022 in what was the biggest year-over-year gain since August.

The actual national average price of a home sold in December rose 5.1 per cent from the previous year to more than 657-thousand-dollars.
