Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 28 Mar, 2015 03:16 PM
TORONTO — Former foreign affairs minister John Baird has become a special international adviser to Barrick Gold Corp.

The Toronto-based mining giant (TSX:ABX), in its annual report issued Friday, lists Baird as a member of its international advisory board.

Baird, 45, announced in February that he was leaving cabinet.

He also said he would not run in the federal election expected in the fall and has resigned as the member of Parliament for Ottawa-West Nepean.

Before entering federal politics, Baird served as a minister in the cabinet of former Ontario premier Mike Harris.
